POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

The Purpose of Leadership in Team Colorado

“Leadership is a commitment to Team Colorado as well as a commitment to ourselves for growth and contribution.  This commitment is what allows Team Colorado to grow as a dynamic entity.”

There are nine leadership positions available and needed for Team Colorado to function and serve as an outstanding group.  The following describes each area and the related responsibilities, approximate time commitment, and tenure involved.  Please consider stepping up so Team Colorado and you can continue the amazing journey of self-discovery and growth.

  • President
    Lindsey Gardner and Nick Hemmert
    Heads the leadership group and provides the coordination of all leadership positions. 
    Organizes the leadership meetings, creates the agenda, and conducts the meeting.
    Oversees the organization of events.
    Opens and closes all events.
    Provides a contact point for leadership and members to look to for growth.
    (Approximate time commitment:  10 hours/month)
    Tenure:  Two years – expiring June 2008
  • Vice President
    Fills in for the President whenever needed.
    Provides back up in all leadership positions.
    Organizes and is the liaison to the leadership group for all committees.
    (Approximate time commitment:  5 hours/month)
    Tenure:  Two years – position currently open
  • Secretary
    Takes minutes from all leadership meetings and distributes those minutes to leadership in a timely manner for review.
    Completes all correspondence for club including e-mail development.
    Assists in registration at events.
    Completes any other secretarial duties as developed by leadership.
    (Approximate time commitment:  5-6 hours/month)

  • Treasurer
    Lindsey Gardner
    Maintains all bookkeeping records for Team Colorado including: Checkbook, bank reconciliation, PayPal account, general ledger, job profitability reports (per event), and financial statements (balance sheet/income statement).
    Bookkeeping skills needed are the ability to follow established system (currently in Peachtree Complete Accounting), understanding of general journal entries, grasp of job costing, and experience using Excel.
    Other responsibilities include preparing for and registering participants at events.  This includes monitoring and downloading information from PayPal to identify prepaid participants as well as cashflow.
    The current Treasurer is willing to train and mentor anyone willing to step up to this position.  The current system can be adapted to work with other bookkeeping methods.

  • Webmaster
    Nick Hemmert
    Maintain Team Colorado’s website including general information and format, calendar of events, design aspects, and functionality.
    Responsible for managing the email broadcast account with Intellicontact and sending out all messages to Team Colorado.
    Responsible for all domain activities for teamcolo.org including, but not limited to:  Domain Expiration, Email addresses, Hosting account. 
    Responsible for managing all of the accounts for these services so that they will be handed down appropriately.

  • Audio Video Coordinator
    Nick Hemmert
    Responsible for the setup, takedown, and running of all Audio and Visual requirements for all events.  Manage the music and video selection for speakers and events. 
    Responsible for training people and backups for events to run the equipment.
    Responsible for storing all of the equipment for use at all of our events.
    (Approximate time commitment:  5 hours/month)

  • Event Coordinator
    Lindsey Gardner
    Responsible for location and booking appropriate venues for each event.
    Coordinate needs of the speakers with venue management.
    Coordinate refreshment needs with person in charge of refreshments for events.
    Monitor counts of attendees to make sure there is appropriate seating.
    Set up venue or coordinate with venue management on the date of the event which includes making sure there are registration tables, speaker tables, etc.
    Help with clean up after event.

  • Event Program Coordinator
    Nick Hemmert and Lindsey Gardner
    Searches for, reviews, and receives approval from the Leadership Board those topics/speakers which address the needs and desires of Team Colorado’s membership
    Coordinates speakers with Team Colorado event calendar.
    Coordinates speaker’s marketing and needs prior to event.
    (Approximate time commitment: 5 - 6 hours/month)
    Tenure:  Two years – (unknown expiration date)
  • Marketing Coordinator
    Prepare press releases, flyers for events.
    Work with Webmaster to advertise events.
    Develop additional avenues for advertising events at no charge.
    Post events on Yourhub.com, Meetups.com, other appropriate locations.
    (Approximate time commitment:  5 - 6 hours/month)
    Tenure:  Two years
